PROGRAMS AND ACTIVITIES
- Commercial AC Standard Project
Under the Kigali Cooling Efficiency Program Berkeley Lab and partners ICM and INEEL are working with the Mexican Commission for the Efficient Use of Energy (CONUEE) to explore the feasibility of a national minimum energy performance standard (MEPS) for Commercial Unitary Air Conditioners over 65,000 bt/hr (rooftop units), including consideration of harmonization with U.S. standards for these products. The project consists of market study, cost-effectiveness and impacts analysis supporting administrative requirements to add a new standard to the regulatory calendar.
