Voluntary Equipment Efficiency Programs

PROGRAMS AND ACTIVITIES

  • Voluntary Programs for High-Efficiency Mini-split Air Conditioners

Under the Kigali Cooling Efficiency Program  Berkeley Lab and partners ICM are collaborating to develop non-regulatory programs to increase the share of variable speed (inverter) mini-split ACs including bulk procurement (government and key industries, e.g., hotels), incentives (e.g., public housing programs and rebates), and integrated EE/RE packages.  Development of non-regulatory programs will be pursued in close coordination with CONUEE and SENER, and other important stakeholders in Mexico (e.g. Fide, Ministry of Hacienda, development banks and industry). With ICM and CMM, and in coordination with non-regulatory projects in development by UNIDO.

  • Energy Efficiency Workshop – Air Conditioning Equipment, Mexico City, Aug 27, 2019

Iniciativa Climatica de Mexico (ICM) organized the workshop  “Taller de Eficiencia Energética en Equipos de Aire Acondicionado” as part of the Kigali Cooling Efficiency Program (K-CEP).  The event provided the opportunity to discuss the level access of commercial AC equipment in the Mexican market and possible strategies to spur penetration of more efficient AC equipment.
